Ceramics: Hand Building & Introduction to the Wheel (Morning Course)
(Beginners & Improvers)
Mondays 10.00–12:30pm | 7th September – 26th October 2026

Over 8 weeks, you’ll be introduced to a range of ceramic processes, with a focus on hand-building, including coiling, slab building, and pinch techniques, alongside surface decoration and glazing. Sessions are informal and supportive, with space to experiment, develop your own ideas, and build confidence at your own pace.
There will also be a gentle introduction to the pottery wheel — a chance to try throwing and see how it can sit alongside hand-built work.

Open to beginners and those with some experience, teaching is flexible with plenty of individual guidance. This course is about more than learning techniques — it’s about spending time making alongside others in a relaxed, welcoming studio.

By the end of the course, you’ll have created a collection of finished pieces and gained a strong foundation to continue. For those who want to go further, there are options to move into more technically focused courses or independent studio time. Many of our participants continue on in this way.

What’s included:
8 weekly sessions (2.5 hours)
All materials, firings, and studio use
Small group teaching
Friendly, inclusive environment
